THE GLOVE PROJECT

The most significant social and economic trend of our day involves women and their prioritization of home and career. For the first time in 40 years, more educated women are leaving the workforce than entering it.

The Glove Project is a video and installation project that explores the lives of these women. San Francisco artist, Michelle Wilcove has been collecting used kitchen gloves from women for more than a year. This has allowed her to take a peek into the lives of these women, discovering the relationship between conditions in the home and the status of women in society.

The Glove Project is a member of Intersection for the Arts Incubator program, and has been funded by a grant from Zellerbach Family Foundation.
